I met Tylee Ertel on accident when I was looking for an editor, but I didn’t know she was one at the time. Through getting to know one another she revealed her profession. My previous editor had a major life change, and I had a project in desperate need of an editor, with a looming deadline. Tylee gave me a sample of her work and I loved her style. When she finished editing my project, she was worried I wouldn’t be happy with her. It turns out she didn’t like my ending, and she wasn’t afraid to tell me it didn’t live up to the rest of my project.

By the time I reached the end and saw her notes, I already trusted her advice. I trashed my original ending and went at it from another angle. It’s fantastic now. Obviously, I wasn’t upset she told me the truth, and my work is all the better for her suggestions.

Her kindly delivered honesty is refreshing. She has a way of pointing you in the right direction without making you feel like you suck. She makes great notes, gives clear ideas, and overall guides your project to be the best it can be in your own voice. A previous editor tried to rewrite my work her way, I hate that! Tylee just wants you to succeed. She’s encouraging and professional, her insights are inspiring and thoughtful.

Plus, she’s got a lock on grammar and punctuation. I cannot recommend her editing, proofreading, and formatting skills enough. She has great rates, and she works quick. She has never caused a delay for me, and she delivers a top-notch end result. She has worked on three novels and three novellas for me, and she will continue to be my first choice for all of my future editing needs, for as long as she'll have me.
